Cardio Rehab / Resuming composing

CARDIO REHAB

Five weeks ago I started going to a cardio rehab program. I have learned a lot from it and hope to continue practicing what was taught to me. I continue to power walk every other day and in between those days I do interval training at home to get my cardio going.

RESUMING MUSIC

I have begun to start composing regularly. It is a slow process but there is much to do. I have been working with Dane Owen, who is a songwriter here and been working on tracks of his songs for film and TV.

I am also doing a side project writing music charts for Richard Natto’s album “LINE OF FIRE”

A few Sundays Ago

Had a wonderful dinner with the wife at home a few Sunday’s ago. Out of nowhere I started feeling uneasy again (just like the week before but it did not last long) only this time it was a little more intense and I could not sit still. I was pacing back and forth. Finally my wife and I decided that I should go to emergency. On the way I was having slight chest pains and shortness of breath. We arrived at the emergency and was immediately taken in. My blood pressure was at 199/131. They took additional blood work from me and decided to admit me in the hospital. The next day the doctor came in my room and told me that I had a heart attack and according to your blood work last night it was not your first heart attack. I was in disbelief. I could not believe that I actually had one… The next day I had a angiogram done and discovered that I had two blockage on my left artery of my heart. One at 90% and the 70% . I was scheduled to have a angioplasty done and had 2 stents put in my heart…

Since then I have been recovering well and have started doing brisk walks. I am at 30 minutes a day (5 days a week) at 1.9 miles (about 3 kilometers). I am now back with the music to where I was from my last blog.

New Year 2018

Happy New Year !!!

This month I have already begun working on 3 trailers cues for “Motion Focus Music” and creating a new CD of crime investigation and dark drama cues for “Studio 51 Music” for our client “Pacific Music” (Riptide/Pig Factory).

Composing 2017: Taking Action

These past few months has been a challenge but I am hanging in there. I have recently signed contracts to compose music for two music libraries. One in the USA, and one in Australia. Presently I am writing for 3 music libraries. Two of them are exclusive libraries and the one is a non-exclusive library. I have also offered my  composing music services to the Sydney Film School here in Sydney and looking forward to work on film projects for future working relationships with people who are going in the film industry. What I have learned this year so far… Trial and Error; Open Minded; and Being Patient in everything that you do… Make them a habit, be resilient, and you will nourish in everything that you do…

Composing 2017: new beginning

Composing music is the focus this year. It is going to require a mental discipline on my part to make this a reality for me. These past few months I have been re-organizing my  thoughts on how  to approach this composing path. My composing goals are already put in place to follow and complete throughout the year. Now it’s time to take action….

Creating my templates

This week I have been focusing on creating templates with my sample virtual instruments for writing various genres of music on LogicPro. It is a lot of work but once it is done I can just focus on the writing. My templates are created on the Kontakt player then I can import them from LogicPro. Kontakt gives the flexibility to create musical textures with the sample libraries or just creating each section of a orchestra with the articulations using the keyswitches.
